It’s getting around to that time of year when the northern atlantic starts to fire and already a few reports are starting to filter in. After a very cold winter with not many fish around a few  blue marlin have started showing up in Bermuda. The local charter fleet had  a pretty good bite there last week and it should be interesting to see what happens when all the visiting boats arrive in the next few weeks. Captain Jonboy Kelmer just informed me that their seeing a couple of  nice fish in Madeira. Local charter boat “Our Mary” fought a decent size blue for a while before pulling the hooks near the boat. Jonboy also told me that their catching some big fish in Gomera. Last year they weighed an 1182# blue marlin and I’m sure the Canary Islands will produce some more big fish this year. Where will the first atlantic grander be weighed this season?

Good Fishing!
